Insurance Gap Analysis

Most families are dangerously underinsured. We conduct a systematic review of every insurance layer — life, disability, long-term care, and liability — identifying the precise gaps that leave your wealth and your family exposed.

Life Insurance Gap Analysis

Life insurance is the most foundational protection layer in any financial plan — yet most families carry either too little coverage, the wrong type, or policies that haven't been reviewed in years. A life insurance gap analysis examines whether your current coverage adequately replaces income, pays off debts, funds education, and preserves your estate.

Common Coverage Gaps

Insufficient Death Benefit

Most rules of thumb (10× income) are inadequate for high earners with complex estates, business interests, or large liabilities. We calculate your precise human life value — the present value of your future earnings minus personal expenses.

Wrong Policy Type

Term insurance expires. If you purchased term at age 35 to cover a mortgage and your needs have grown — estate planning, business succession, wealth transfer — you may need permanent coverage that term can't provide.

Outdated Beneficiary Designations

Life insurance passes outside probate — directly to the named beneficiary. Divorces, deaths, or changes in family structure that aren't reflected in the beneficiary designation can result in assets going to the wrong person.

No Policy Coordination

Multiple policies bought at different life stages often overlap in some areas while creating gaps in others. A portfolio review consolidates and optimizes all policies into a coherent strategy.

Employer Group Life Inadequacy

Employer-provided life insurance (typically 1–2× salary) is portable only until you leave. Building personal coverage independent of employment is essential for long-term protection.

Business Life Insurance Gaps

Business owners need separate key-person coverage, buy-sell agreement funding, and potentially split-dollar arrangements — none of which are addressed by personal life insurance.
